If you’re one of the many people within the United Kingdom who love all the new high tech, high definition gadgets and toys available in your local electronics store, you’re most likely aware of all the new toys around the corner. It’s most likely you’ve already got your hands on an HD Television, a HD recorder and HD video camera to see your home videos in all the coloured glory possible.

Blu-ray Disc Player Articles
Blu-ray meets the iPhone, and instantly it’s a match made in heaven. A perfect marriage of mobility and entertainment is formed, and everyone lives happily ever after! Is it the plot of a new movie? Not quite.
It’s breaking news of a new iPhone app that lets you access special features of Blu-ray discs from your iPhone - both at home and on-the-go. Universal Studios is the first to harness this pairing of energies, saying that it will start releasing many of its (top-grossing, no doubt) feature films on Blu-ray discs enabled with a wide variety of features and functions for use with iPhones and iPod Touches, including many internet/Wi-Fi based interactivity features, which can be accessed by these handheld devices through the aid of a companion app that, conveniently, is also available at Apple’s iTunes App Store.
It’s been going on for a couple of years now. Stores have been carrying both Blu-Ray and HD DVD disks, manufacturers have been making both types of drives, and people have been talking about them both.
However, Blu-Ray players can’t play HD DVD’s, and HD DVD players can’t play Blu-Ray discs. At the end of the day, they both do the same thing (play a high-definition movie on an HDTV), so why the feud? Well, it’s a matter of who got their first. Two companies developed and successfully marketed a working high definition delivery system, and they both took off! But, as we all know, only one can survive, and in the battle of Blu-Ray vs HD DVD player computability, it seems Blu-Ray has won the fight.
The term blue ray is a name given for the color of the laser that is used and the optical ray that is used. The blue ray disc helps in storing large quantities of files, that it is approximately has the capacity to store and act five times better than the standard one. JVM is the term which refers to Java Virtual Machine. This is computer software which helps in executing the computer programs and the scripts. This helps in the execution of the high definition video and audio as well as photos and other digital content. The Java Virtual Machines use Java byte code for its operation.
When you think about Mp3 Video Player models, your mind probably automatically goes to the big names, such as Apple’s iPod or Microsoft’s Zune. However, there are other possibilities on the market. And not all of them come from obscure companies either.
The Sony Walkman Mp3 Video Player is one example. Launched back in 2007, the produce hasn’t made a huge name for itself in the industry but does have some features that might be of interest to consumers, especially those who don’t want to be in the middle of the Apple/Microsoft battle.

| Review by Keith A. Mesch (Mid-West USA) 2010-07-26 All positives for this Panasonic Blu-Ray player. I got it out of the box, plugged it in, connected the ethernet cable and then sat back to watch outstanding video. Setup time was less than 15 minutes and it was really easy to get it plugged into the surround sound amp. The sound from the Blu-Ray is probably the most amazing part of this technology.... | Review by Doug Pardee (USA) 2010-07-20 I have a Sony large-screen TV that's pretty darned good. A Sony home theater system-in-a-box that's okay. But the BDP-S570 doesn't work. I've spent a month, a lot of time on the phone with Sony, and extra money for networking equipment; I've replaced the unit I had for another, and it's still DOA. I've returned the replacement unit for a refund, an... Read more Sony BDP-S570 Blu-ray reviews | ||

| Review by John Peter Altgeld (Ann Arbor, MI USA) 2010-07-11 I received the Sony BDP-S360 player in mid-February and used it for both Blu-ray and regular DVD discs. The picture quality is OK, but disc loading time is glacially slow. Given the relatively low price I paid for the player, I could live with the slowness. What I can't live with is that the player failed by the end of June, four and a half mont... Read more Sony BDP-S360 1080p reviews | ||

| Review by Carl W. Flach (alameda, ca United States) 2010-07-27 When Sony won the HD contest with Toshiba I instantly bought a Sony BD player, no WiFi at that time. After a year and a half it quit. I didn't want to have it repaired. I then bought a Samsung BD-C6500 as it had builtin WiFi. This feature failed to remember the router code meaning that I had to reprogram it every time I wanted to watch a Netflix mo... Read more Panasonic DMP-BD85K WiFi reviews | ||

| Review by Britt Mayo (Houston, TX) 2010-07-29 The player worked perfectly out of the box, and joined my home wireless network on the first try. It has good wireless sensitivity (signals are weak in this far corner of my house), and plays even HD (720p) YouTube videos crisply (don't have enough signal strength for 1080p, even on my PC). The apps are somewhat handy, albeit rudimentary. I thin... Read more Samsung BD-C6500 1080p reviews | ||

| Review by whitetiger (USA) 2010-07-27 The no 1 feature of the player is its homelink thingy. It recognized all the drives connected to the seagate network adapter. and played all the various video formats. Bru Ray looks very stunning, this is my first Blue Ray player, so cannot compare, but am really impressed with the upgrade. The regular DVDs looks a little bit better, s... | Review by Bargain hunter (NJ) 2010-07-30 I had to buy this to watch 3D on my Samsung UN55C8000 LED TV. The model is very slick and light. The touch based controls are good. It loads discs very fast. Except for 3D it is just like any other Blu-ray player. Do hook it up to internet and update the Firmware (regularly). The Internet and Apps are good. The 3D capability is good (Alient vs Mons... Read more Samsung BD-C6900 1080p reviews | ||
